St. Paddy's Day!

For the past 43 years, the Chicago River has been turned green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Did you know that this is done with a dye used to test leaks? Apparently, the dye is orange at first and for a few moments you would probably ask "What have they done!?", but then turns a perfect shade of "Irish" green. There may be unique qualities to that particular river also, because other cities have tried and not succeeded in doing something similar.

For more traditional facts, did you know St. Patrick was born in Rome controlled Britain? Or that he used shamrocks to teach the Holy Trinity to the Irish? For more fun facts about St. Patricks Day, please read the SJ Discounttools newsletter!
